WANTED... On 06/12/15 members of the Genesee Auto-Theft Investigation Network (GAIN) attempted to make contact with a suspect in possession of a stolen vehicle. The suspect rammed an unmarked Sheriff's Department vehicle and led police on a pursuit. The suspect jumped from the moving stolen vehicle and escaped on foot while police had to stop the run away vehicle. Charges have been issue for the suspect, Ricky Crowl (33), and he is WANTED for Larceny, Unlawful Driving Away Motor Vehicle, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Malicious Destruction of Property and 3rd Degree Fleeing and Eluding. WANTED... On 04/25/15 at approx. 1:45am Flint Police responded to the 1800 blk. Davison Rd. for a Robbery. The victim had been seriously assaulted, requiring medical attention, and robbed at gun point of his vehicle and wallet. The stolen vehicle was recovered later that day by Flint Police Detective Jones who is assigned to the Genesee Auto-Theft Investigation Network (GAIN). The investigation led to a suspect being identified and charges were issued for that suspect. Samone Jones (22) is WANTED for Carjacking, Armed Robbery, Felony Firearm and Stealing/Retaining a Financial Transaction without Consent. UPDATE.... A second person has been arrested for the Murder of Jason Missentzis (37) on 05/10/15. Celeste Baker (32) has been charged and arraigned for 1st Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.

On 05/10/15 at approx. 2:40am Flint Police responded to the 200 blk. E. Pierson Rd for a shooting. The victim, Jason Missentzis (37), was transported to the hospital where he later died. On 05/13/15 an attempt to locate a suspect in this case led to a stand off between the suspect and police in Grand Blanc Township. The stand off ended peacefully, with the suspect taken into custody. That suspect, Anthony Kennedy (28) has now been charged and arraigned for 1st Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Felony Firearm and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.

There are many opportunities this week to meet and interact with Flint Police.

On Thursday, June 25 from 5:30 - 8:30 is this month's Light Up the City Event at the Haskell Community Center, 2201 Forest Hill.
Saturday starts off with the Stop the Silence 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament in downtown Flint at 8am.
And finally, Saturday night there is a benefit concert hosted by The Machine Shop, 3539 S. Dort, to raise funds for our K9 unit.
Come out and join us at one of these events. Together we can make a difference!

FREE 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament coming in 2 weeks to Downtown Flint. The 3rd Annual Stop the Silence 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 27 at 8am at the DDA flat lot. Registration is open to ages 7-24 and the registration form is attached to this post. You can register as a team or as an individual and you will be placed on a team. All players will receive a free t-shirt. Bracket winners will receive a medal and a team ball, which is a NBA quality custom Stop the Silence basketball. Register now! Forms can be dropped off at the Flint Police Department, MSP Flint Post, PAL office or ELGA Credit Unions.

On 05/09/15 Flint Police Ofc. Frost responded to a report of a fight. On scene it was reported to Ofc. Frost that a female had been attacked by another female while several others stood by and cheered on the aggressor. A member of the neighborhood watch, Ms. Radakovich, was in the area and observed the assault. Ms. Radakovich intervened and stopped the assault and prevented any serious injury to the victim. Ms. Radakovich put herself in harm's way to protect the life of a stranger and has been awarded a Certificate of Merit for her selfless act of heroism. Thank you Ms. Radakovich!#FlintCares

This incident ended when Ms. Radakovich intervened, with the volatile crowd fleeing the scene, however we would like to caution citizens about intervening in situations that could have an alternate, possibly violent result. Safety first!

UPDATE... Chyna Kemp (21) was arrested this afternoon by the Michigan State Police Fugitive Team, which is comprised of law enforcement personnel from multiple agencies including the Flint Police Department. Zawntakia Kemp (26) has previously turned herself in. 


On 06/06/15 Flint Police attended Bridging the Gap at Metropolitan Baptist Church. Capt. Golden and Lt. Pillsbury spoke with youth about police work, interactions between police officers and the community and ways to foster a mutual trust between the two. Open and candid discussions between law enforcement and the community are important to the Flint Police department in their goal of maintaining lines of communication. UPDATE.... Early this morning Felice Erskine (31) contacted the Flint Police Department. Her whereabouts have been confirmed and she is safe.

UPDATE... At approx. 1:40am this morning Flint Police responded to Richfield Rd. and Huggins Ave for two women that were struck by a 2010 blue Chevrolet HHR that left the scene. Both women were pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation revealed that the two women were walking east on Richfield Rd. from Huggins Ave. and were struck by the Chevrolet. The driver, a female adult, left the scene. The driver was later arrested. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The investigation is on going.
