On 10/25/14 at approx. 5pm it was reported that a man forcefully took money from a cash register at a business in the 2900 blk. Flushing Rd. Michigan State Police also responded to the area and located a suspect who fled on foot. The suspect was arrested and charges are pending review by the Genesee County Prosecutors Office.

On 08/28/14 at approx. 3pm, cash and other items were taken from a 72 year old man in the 700 blk. Addison. 2 suspects have now been arrested, charged and arraigned for this incident for the following charges. Robert Williams II (26) for Unarmed Robbery and Sarai Young (26) for Accessory After the Fact to a Felony.


Michael Albro (20) has been arrested, charged and arraigned for Felony Murder 1st Degree, Armed Robbery, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Felony Firearm for the murder of Shannon Cook on 10/12/14 in the 2400 blk. S. Saginaw.

On 09/24/14 at approx. 10pm a man drove himself to the hospital after being shot in the face in an apparent robbery attempt. It was later determined that the shooting occurred near Corunna and Ballenger. The victim survived his injuries. The person depicted in this photo is a person of interest in the case. Nigere Fant (18) and Robert Carter (20) have both been arrested, charged and arraigned for 2 counts of Armed Robbery, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Felony Firearm.  Carter also has an additional charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.  These charges stem from an incident on 7/01/14 near Adams and Paterson in which 2 males were robbed at gunpoint.

Christopher Parker-Glover (19), the second suspect in the murder of Brent Simpson on 08/27/14 near Dartmouth and Alexander, has now been charged and arraigned for 1st Degree Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm. Cameron Washington-Glover (17) has also been charged in this case.

The City of Flint Police Department is welcoming its newest member. Edo the police canine has joined the Flint Police Department. Edo is a 4 year old male German Shepard imported from Poland and donated to the Flint Police Department by the Little Traverse Bay Band Tribal Police Department, located near Petoskey, Michigan. Officer John Boismier of the Flint Police Department will be Edo’s handler; together they will make up Flint’s K9 unit.

Edo is currently certified through the National Association of Professional Canine Handlers (NAPCH) in human tracking, handler protection, area & article searching, suspect location and obedience and will be a valuable asset to the FPD. Officer Boismier and Edo will join the cooperative efforts of other Genesee County K9 teams, including Michigan State Police, to meet the effective K9 deployment needs for the Flint, Genesee County and broader Southeastern Michigan Law Enforcement Region. Edo’s food and medical care will be provided by Michigan State University Veterinary Services.

After working shifts together with handler Officer John Boismier, Edo will stay with the Boismier family to strengthen the bond between officer and dog. “The two are developing a trusting relationship with one another in order to work effectively in the field together, just like any police partners,” said Flint Police Chief James Tolbert. Officer Boismier and Edo began duty this week on October 6, 2014.





Early this morning Flint Police Officers responded to the area of Court/Hubbard for a report of banging noises coming from inside of a vacant house. Upon arrival, the officers could hear the noises and observed that a door to the residence had been forcibly entered. While approaching the house officers heard a scurrying noise towards the attic. A nearby resident loaned the officers a ladder which assisted in locating a suspect that was hiding in the attic underneath insulation. Copper piping had been removed from within the walls of the residence. The suspect was arrested and charges are pending review by the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office.

On 10/4/14 at approx. 6pm Flint Police Officers responded to the area of Stevenson and Flushing where it had been reported that a man with a gun had threatened employees at a business. Upon arrival, officers observed a subject matching the suspect description and upon approaching him he ran from the officers. After a short foot chase the subject, who was a convicted felon, was arrested and a gun was seized. Charges are pending review by the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office.
On 10/4/14 at approx. 11am a man was in a parking lot near Flushing and Ballenger when a subject took cash from him. Other subjects then accessed the mans car, taking his wallet which also contained cash. Flint Police Officers obtained information from the victim and also checked nearby businesses for surveillance video evidence, which led to a description of the suspects. An officer checking the area observed 3 subjects matching the description and after a short foot chase they were taken into custody. A stolen gun was seized from one of the subjects. Charges are pending review by the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office.

On 10/02/14 at approx. 1am two men were fishing at the Flint River near downtown. A subject, described as a black male in his 20s approx. 5'5", 145 lbs, medium complexion, robbed the two men at gunpoint. One of the victims then ran away on foot and the second jumped into the river as the suspect fired shots at them. Another man was nearby and observed the victim in the river struggling to stay above water. That man rushed to the aid of the victim and was able to grab onto and hold onto the victim's hand until Flint Police Officers and UofM Flint Officers arrived on scene and removed the victim from the river.
