On Wednesday, July 9, 2014, the Flint Fire Department requested Flint Police Department and Michigan State Police arson investigators to the 2500 block of East Court Street in the city of Flint of investigate a suspicious fire at a residence. This fire was determined to be arson by the investigators. During the course of this investigation, a suspect was developed and subsequently arrested.

UPDATE:
On 07/09/2014, Flint Police Officers and Michigan State Police Troopers located a subject believed to be Daron Gaylor Jr at a residence in the 400 block of East Sherman in the city of Flint. After a lengthy stand-off with police, the suspect was found deceased in the attic of the home. This investigation will continue.
