UPDATE.... Sheryl Brown (29) was arrested by Flint Police last night for her warrants.


UPDATE.... Lawrence McKinney (57) has been charged and arraigned for Home Invasion 1st degree, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm. 


On 01/18/15 at approx. 0145 hrs. a man and a woman were shot near the area of Stewart and Maines. Both victims were reported to be in good condition. The investigation has led to Lavon Ivy (40) to be arrested, charged and arraigned for 2 counts of Assault with Intent to Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Felony Firearm.

On 01/24/15 Flint Police responded to the area of Saginaw and 5th Ave for a shoplifter that was reported to be assaulting store employees. The suspect, Jimmy Martinez (39), was arrested on scene and has since been charged and arraigned for Unarmed Robbery.

The City of Flint Police Department occasionally receives reports of criminal activity that is suspected by the investigator to be a false report. The motivation by people to make a false reports is frequently to cover up other criminal activity that they themselves have been involved in.The individuals making these false reports take valuable investigative time and resources away from legitimate victims. The Flint Police Department will charge individuals determined to be making a false reports with this agency, through the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office. We will highlight some of these prosecutions through this page.

On January 17th, 2015, Flint Police were dispatched to the 3800 block of South Saginaw Street for a shooting. Officers found Tarence Lard, a 19-year old male, laying in a parking lot with a gunshot wound in his leg. Lard reported that he was shot in a drive-by while walking through the lot. After a handgun was recovered at the scene, Lard was re-interviewed concerning the actual events leading to him being shot. Lard was charged and arraigned for “False Report of a Felony”, a felony charge punishable by up to 4 years in prison, a $2,000.00 fine, or both, and “Carrying a Concealed Weapon”, a felony charge punishable by up to 5 years in prison or a fine of $2,500.



This afternoon, at approx. 1:15pm, Flint Police received a call to the area of Fenton & 12th Street, for a Breaking and Entering of a residence in progress. A citizen in the area had heard breaking glass and observed a male crawling through a window into a home. Flint Police Officers Baldwin and Ross arrived on scene and observed the suspect jump from a rear window of the residence. Officers Baldwin and Ross began chasing the suspect on foot. A retired Genesee County Sheriff's Deputy was nearby and assisted in the chase. The officers caught the suspect and he was arrested and lodged in jail for Home Invasion and a misdemeanor warrant. Charges are pending review by the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office. Great job everyone, Flint Police, citizens and retirees all working together!
On 07/27/10 Flint Police responded to the 1900 blk. Howard where a female, Rachel Hawkins, was found deceased in her bed. In the last two weeks, Clarence Outlaw III (32) was arrested, charged and arraigned in this case for 1st Degree Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm. John Zelinski (23) has been arrested, charged and arraigned for three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct 2nd Degree as a result of an investigation that began in November 2014.


Early this morning, while on routine patrol in the area of Hamilton and Proctor, Ofc. Frost observed a vehicle that had been reported stolen. The vehicle sped off for a moment, then the driver fled on foot from the vehicle. Ofc. Frost pursued the driver on foot, caught him and placed him under arrest. A handgun was seized and the vehicle was returned to the owner. The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was lodged in jail for Unlawfully Driving Away Automobile, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felony Firearm, and Resisting Arrest. Charges are pending review by the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office. Great job Ofc. Frost!

On December 28, 2014, Oscar Banks, a 23 year old male, arrived at Hurley Medical Center with a gunshot wound. Banks reported to officers that he was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by a man who put a gun in his face. Banks reported after a brief struggle, he ran and was shot by the man. The investigation led Detectives to Banks residence where they located blood in several areas of the house, a bullet hole in his floor that traveled into an adjoining apartment and a stolen handgun. Banks was charged with and arraigned for "False Report of a Felony", a felony charge punishable by up to 4 years in prison, a $2,000.00 fine, or both.



UPDATE.... Maseo Buggs was arrested by the Genesee County Sheriff's Department this afternoon.

WANTED.... On 12/10/14 Flint Police arrested Sheryl Brown (29) for Prostitution and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Flint Township Police are asking for assistance to help identify suspects in recent cases in which property has been stolen from vehicles. The two subjects seen are believed to drive the full sized van and used credit cards stolen from a vehicle. The smaller van is another suspect vehicle and is believed to be driven by a white female. On January 15, shortly after 11:30 pm, Flint Police Officers Smith and Walker responded to the 800 block of Campbell in reference to a report of possible drug activity in a house that was believed to be condemned. There, the officers discovered six individuals who were actively cooking meth. The officers took the six subjects into custody, retreated from the house, and contacted FANG. The Flint Fire Department arrived on scene and stood by as a precaution while the FANG meth team neutralized and disposed of the components. Three of the subjects were lodged at the Flint City Jail. The other three were identified and released pending further investigation.
On 01/13/15 at approx. 8:30 pm, Flint Police responded to the area of Grand Traverse and 12th Street for a report of a man in a vehicle waving around a gun. Sgt. Campbell located the suspect vehicle and maintained a visual on the vehicle while awaiting backup. Once another Officer was on scene to assist, the suspect vehicle was stopped and the occupant, Cameron Jones (38), was arrested. Three hand guns were located and seized from the vehicle. Cameron Jones has since been charged and arraigned for 2 counts of Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Felonious Assault for this incident. Great job Sgt. Campbell!


UPDATE... Keonte Sadler (27) was arrested yesterday by US Marshals in Arizona. Keonte and Marquel Sadler were wanted for 1st Degree Murder, Gang Member Felonies, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm for the Murder of Gregory Hodo (36) on 05/30/14 near Pierson and Fleming Rd. Marquel Sadler (23) turned himself in to Police in August 2014 and is in custody awaiting trial.


At approx. 9 am this morning there was a bank robbery at First Merit bank in downtown Flint. Officers from the Flint Police Special Operations Bureau were in the area and located the suspect within 10 minutes of the robbery and recovered the money taken from the bank. There were no injuries to any persons involved in this incident. Great Job Officers!

On Monday morning, 01/12/15 at around 1:30AM, Officer Hart-Smith and a Sergeant were dispatched to the 3800 block of S. Saginaw on a 911 call for help from a woman. The victim reported that she had been held captive after the suspect, a 34 year old male known to her, forced his way in her house, destroyed her property and sexually assaulted her. The victim later jumped out of a car to escape from the suspect. Officers were watching the area and observed the suspect trying to sneak back to the victim's location. When he saw police he fled and Officers chased him through the neighborhood where Officer Hart-Smith was able to stop the vehicle and took the suspect into custody. As it turned out, the suspect was already a wanted fugitive and was taken to the Flint City Jail on outstanding warrants and to await arraignment on new charges. Excellent job Officer Hart-Smith!
On Saturday 1/10/15 the Police Athletic League (PAL) boys 6th grade team competed in the FAAST Winter Blast basketball tournament at Swish Zone in Whitmore Lake, Mi. The team, coached by Officer Jesse Carpenter and Officer Terrell Weston, placed FIRST in the tournament. Congratulations to all!

On 01/13/15 at approx. 8:30am Flint Police responded to 300 blk. E. Flint Park for a report of suspicious persons. Upon arrival Ofc. Essix observed 2 males, that were removing siding from a vacant house, running from that location. Ofc. Essix was able to take one of the males into custody. The male was found to have a 6 count Felony Warrant for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Receiving and Concealing Stolen Firearm, Larceny from a Person, Felony Firearm and Assaulting, Resisting, Obstructing a Police Officer. The male was also issued an Appearance Ticket for Larceny - Removal of Aluminum Siding. Great job Officer Essix!

The suspect is described as a black male approx. 6' tall wearing a burgundy hooded sweatshirt and ski mask, blue sweatpants, white tennis shoes, carrying a white bag and armed with a handgun. UPDATE.... Noah Patton (26) has been arrested for Fleeing & Eluding 3rd Degree, Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing Police and Possession of Marijuana for an incident that occurred on 10/9/14.


On 1/7/15 at approx. 3:15 pm, Flint Police responded to the 2800 blk. Stonegate for a shooting.  A mother, Sue Burns (54), and her son, Vanthony Burns (19), were found at that location with fatal gunshot wounds.
Demechieo Pea (25) has been arrested, charged and arraigned in this case for 2 counts of 1st Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Felon in Possession and Felony Firearm.

****UPDATE*****
Officers followed up with the elderly woman found in freezing temperatures near Howard and Floral Park. She reported she was doing well and only had minor frost bite to her fingertips. 

Erica Kage, when hearing of this incident, took the time to purchase items of clothing and food for the female, and delivered them to the Flint Police Department. 

When Flint Police delivered the items to the female she was very thankful, and admitted she was in fact hungry. 

The Flint Police Department would like to recognize and express gratitude to Arletha Chaney, her 2 children and Erika Kage for their generosity and kindness in helping this woman in a time of need.

On 01-07-15 at 9:30 P.M., officers received a call to the area of Howard and Floral Park, to check the welfare of an elderly female. A lady was located under a blanket with little clothing on her person. The temperature was 2 degrees, with a wind chill well below zero. A City of Flint resident, Arletha Chaney and her children arrived at the above location. Miss Chaney asked if they could be of any assistance. Officers on the scene transported the lady to a motel that was located near by. Miss Chaney and her children collected the lady's belongs and transported them to the motel. Miss Chaney even offered to pay for a motel room for the lady. Miss Chaney gave the lady some money for a warm meal. Without Miss Chaney's assistance, It wouldn't have been possible to transport all of the lady's belongings. The Flint Police Department would like to thank Miss Chaney and her children for their generosity and being there in a time of need.  #FlintCares

On 1/3/15 Flint Police responded to a call reporting a CSC (Criminal Sexual Conduct) that had just occurred. Upon the initial investigation, a suspect was arrested. Additional investigation led to multiple charges to be issued. Jerry Hunt (35) was charged and arraigned today for three counts of CSC 1st Degree, five counts of CSC 3rd Degree, one count of Computer Crimes and one count of Distributing Obscene Matter to Children.


David Zolenski (62) was charged and arraigned yesterday for Soliciting Prostitution from an arrest on 12/15/14.


On Friday, January 2, 2015, the Flint Police Department Tactical Response Team assisted the Special Operations Bureau in executing a search warrant on a fortified drug house in the 300 block of Grace Street in the city of Flint. After the house was secured, officers recovered heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana. Five individuals from the Detroit area and one individual from Montrose were arrested inside and lodged in the Flint City Jail.

On 12/30/14 Flint Police received a report of a CSC (Criminal Sexual Conduct) that had just occurred. A suspect was arrested that day upon the completion of the initial investigation. Additional investigation by Sgt. Surface led to charges of multiple counts of CSC to be issued for incidents that occurred over several months against two victims. Thomas Jones III (20) was charged and arraigned in this case yesterday for 11 counts of CSC 1st Degree.
