On June 26, 2014, the Flint Police Department conducted a sting targeting the activities of both prostitutes and persons attempting to solicit the services of a prostitute in the city of Flint. The sting resulted in 3 felony and 5 misdemeanor arrests and the recovery of quantities of both cocaine and heroin. These stings are expected to continue.....

David McKenze (30) has been arrested, charged and arraigned for the listed charges from an incident that occurred on 06/20/14. A rifle and a shot gun were also seized as a result of this arrest. McKenze is a convicted felon with 2 previous weapons convictions.

Ben Brown has been arrested, charged and arraigned for Breaking and Entering Building for an incident on 06/15/14 in the 2600 blk. S. Saginaw in which a commercial building was burglarized.


06/20/14 1130 hours, the Flint Police Department Bomb Squad responded to the 1900 block of Miller Road for what was reported to be a military hand grenade in a garage. Bomb Technicians inspected and dismantled the grenade that had been modified to appear to be an improvised explosive device and cleared the scene a short time later.
Diarre Pickett (23) has been arrested, charged and arraigned for 2 counts of Assault with Intent to Murder and Domestic Violence for an incident that occurred on 6/14/14 in the 3000 blk. Raskob.

On June 16, 2014, members of the Flint Police Department Area Crime Team (ACT) were conducting surveillance on a subject suspected of conducting a "drive-by" into an occupied house the previous day. During the course of this investigation, team members attempted to stop vehicle near the intersection of Sterling and Stewart in the city of Flint. The vehicle fled from officers and at the end of the pursuit, officers arrested 3 adults for charges ranging from fleeing and eluding and carrying a concealed weapon to possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. All of the arrested parties are currently lodged in the Flint City Lock up. Nice work!
The Flint Lifelines group will be hosting a community safety forum on Thursday, June 19 at 5:30pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 6901 N. Saginaw St., Flint. Members of the City of Flint Police Department will be on hand to provide community public safety updates and ways to become involved with various community safety initiatives. 

They will also be demonstrating to the community how to use the FPD social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter, this blog, Crimemapping.com and COPLOGIC. 

We encourage anyone who would like to become more involved in the safety of their community to be a part of this event.

Kendrick Copeland (26) has been arrested, charged and arraigned for Assault with Intent to Murder, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Felony Firearm as a result of shooting that occurred on June 8, 2014 in the 1000 blk. Stockton where a man was critically injured.

In October 2013 a man was critically beaten outside of a Flint bar. The investigation lead to warrants being issued for two suspects for Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm. Those two suspects, David Gunn and Eugene Gill, were arrested on 6/12/14 at Detroit Metro Airport by the Michigan State Police Fugitive Team. They were arraigned on their charges today.


On 06-12-2014, members of the Flint Police Department conducted an undercover prostitution sting on the south side of the city of Flint. Officers arrested 9 people for prostitution related offenses, impounded 7 vehicles and seized 2 handguns during the operation. These types of initiatives will continue throughout the summer in all parts of the city.

UPDATE.... On 06/07/14 at approx. 10:30 pm Ofc. Bridgette Balasko and Ofc. Andrew Grocholski arrested Randy Hyde in the 4000 blk. Jacque. Mr. Hyde was booked and lodged in jail on his outstanding warrants. Good job Officers!

UPDATE...A happy ending, to a day that started sadly for this little girl, and the kind woman that gave her a new bike.

A little girl who lives in the area of Atherton and Hammerberg awoke this morning, heart broken when she discovered that her bicycle had been stolen from her yard. If you are in that area please keep an eye out for her bicycle which is described as a 20" pink and purple girls bike with white tires and pom poms on the handle bars. The front tire is flat. Warrants have been issued for the suspect whose actions lead to the house explosion on 05/13/14 in the 1000 blk. of Markham. The explosion is believed to be the result of the suspect stealing pipes from the vacant residence. Randy Hyde (32) is wanted for Home Invasion 2nd Degree, Malicious Destruction of a Building and Larceny in a Building. In the early morning hours on 06/05/14, the night squad patrol Lieutenant attempted to stop a vehicle for excessive speed in a residential area. The driver refused to stop. The brief vehicle pursuit ended when the driver found himself at a dead end. The driver then fled the vehicle on foot. The foot pursuit resulted in the driver being arrested in a wooded area. After giving a false name the driver's identity was later determined and he was found to be a wanted Parole Absconder (original charge of Unarmed Robbery) and a Civil Warrant for Child Neglect. Additional charges, including Fleeing and Eluding, will be requested through the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office. Good job to all of the night squad involved in this arrest!

Additional warrants (listed on photo) were issued recently for Alonzo McCovery (19) for an overnight crime spree in October 2013 which resulted in the Murder of Kory Pascal (38) near Sheffield and Brentwood. Several other victims were robbed at gun point by the same suspect at different locations prior to the Murder of Pascal. McCovery is in custody and awaiting court proceedings. These charges were the result of a joint investigation by the Flint Police & Michigan State Police Major Crimes Unit and the Flint Township Police Department.

Keonte Sadler (27) and Marquel Sadler (23) are wanted for the Murder of Gregory Hodo (36) on 05/30/14 near Pierson and Fleming Rd. Warrants have been issued for Keonte Sadler for 1st Degree Murder, Gang Member Felonies, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm. Warrants have been issued for Marquel Sadler for 1st Degree Murder, Gang Member Felonies, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Felony Firearm Second Offense. Both should be considered armed and extremely dangerous, do not approach, call 911. UPDATE... Daron Gaylor Jr. (22) is wanted for 1st Degree Murder, Assault with Intent to Murder, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Felony Firearm. These charges stem from a shooting yesterday, 06/02/14 near ML King and Welch, which resulted in the death of Ali McZick (28) and a second victim, Tyrell Gaylor (19), to be in critical condition. Daron Gaylor should be considered armed and dangerous, do not approach, if seen CALL 911. On 05/27/14 near the 2400 blk. Corunna Rd, a male was shot during a Robbery attempt by a person known to him. The investigation lead by the FPD/MSP Major Crimes Unit resulted in the arrest of a suspect later that night. That suspect, Mark Garth Jr. (22), has since been charged and arraigned for the multiple felonies listed.
