On 9/24/98, 14 year old Coral Hall was reported as a runaway by her grandmother and legal guardian, Lois Janish. Over the course of the next eight years, several persons were interviewed and information was developed that people close to Coral suspected that she was not a runaway and possibly a victim of foul play. The police department conducted multiple interviews with Janish, each time she told a different version of the events surrounding the disappearance of Coral. The Flint Police Department conducted the first of six unsuccessful searches for Coral's remains in the summer of 2011. In the summer of 2013, enough evidence was collected to issue an arrest warrant for Lois Janish. She was arrested on July 31, 2013. Yesterday, Janish pled No Contest to Second Degree Murder in Michigan's 07th Circuit Court before Judge Farah. She is scheduled to be sentenced in early November, 2015. Coral's remains have not been recovered. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Sgt Greg Hosmer at the City of Flint Police Department at 810-237-6901 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
