UPDATE...A happy ending, to a day that started sadly for this little girl, and the kind woman that gave her a new bike.

A little girl who lives in the area of Atherton and Hammerberg awoke this morning, heart broken when she discovered that her bicycle had been stolen from her yard. If you are in that area please keep an eye out for her bicycle which is described as a 20" pink and purple girls bike with white tires and pom poms on the handle bars. The front tire is flat. Please call (810) 237-6821 or (810) 237-6801 if you have any information.

Warrants have been issued for the suspect whose actions lead to the house explosion on 05/13/14 in the 1000 blk. of Markham. The explosion is believed to be the result of the suspect stealing pipes from the vacant residence. Randy Hyde (32) is wanted for Home Invasion 2nd Degree, Malicious Destruction of a Building and Larceny in a Building. In the early morning hours on 06/05/14, the night squad patrol Lieutenant attempted to stop a vehicle for excessive speed in a residential area. The driver refused to stop. The brief vehicle pursuit ended when the driver found himself at a dead end. The driver then fled the vehicle on foot. The foot pursuit resulted in the driver being arrested in a wooded area. After giving a false name the driver's identity was later determined and he was found to be a wanted Parole Absconder (original charge of Unarmed Robbery) and a Civil Warrant for Child Neglect. Additional charges, including Fleeing and Eluding, will be requested through the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office. Good job to all of the night squad involved in this arrest!
